Stamm Ancestors

An American Adventure

Berks County, Pennsylvania - Johann Adam Stamm and wife Rachel Filsmeyer immigrated about 1742 and settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Son Werner was a prominent member of the community until his death in 1795. Grandson Nicholas Stamm raised a family of fourteen children, most of whom remained in the area.

Stark County, Ohio - Middle son Daniel Stamm and wife Sarah Fromm left the Berks area for Stark County, Ohio, in the late 1820s. In Stark County, daughter Lydia Stamm married Abraham Taylor. Lydia and Abraham relocated for several years to Auglaize County, Ohio, but permanently settled in Monroe Township, Allen County, Ohio.
