Sara identified as a daughter of John Patterson in Patterson's will1920 written 23 January 1815 in Augusta County, Virginia. John Patterson's will identifies the children of John Patterson as sons Adam and George and daughters Jane Patterson, Sara Sillings, and Polly Moore.

1830 U.S. Census:1947 Sarah Sillin enumerated in the household of her husband John Sillin in Northern District, Augusta County, Virginia, as a female between the age of 50-60. Son John P. Sillin, age 30, also resided in the household.

1840 U.S. Census:1873 Sarah enumerated in the household of her husband John Sillin in Burlington Township, Licking County, Ohio as a female, age 60 to 70; Sarah would have been about age 62.

1850 U.S. Census:1938 Sarah enumerated in the household of her husband John Sillin in Burlington Township, Licking County, Ohio as a female, age 72, born in Virginia.
