Monroe County, New York - Andrew Ryder and Mary Houlihan emigrated from Ireland to Rochester, Monroe County, New York, sometime around 1833.

Cook and Grundy Counties, Illinois - The family was in Cook County, Illinois by 1850 and in Grundy County, Illinois in 1860. Son Andrew Ryder had returned to Cook County by 1873 and earned his living as a livestock broker.

Will County, Illinois - Andrew Ryder and his wife Alice Reed retired to Will County, Illinois around 1920.
