Wayne County, Ohio - In 1840, a David Bay was enumerated in Plain Township, Wayne County, Ohio, heading a household of seven, which included a male age 10 to 15 who could be Cyrus Bay, age twelve at the time. Also enumerated in the household was a female age 5 to 10, who could have been the ten year old Mary Bay who would marry Benjamin Crull in Wayne County in 1847.

Nearly thirty years later, Mary and Benjamin Crull's son Marquis de Lafayette Crull would marry Cyrus Bay's daughter Lora Arecelia Bay in Henry County, Illinois. Was Mary Bay related to Cyrus Bay, perhaps a sister residing in 1840 in their father David Bay's household in Wayne County, Ohio?

Henry County, Illinois - Benjamin Crull and Mary Bay were in Henry County, Illinois around 1850. The Crulls raised four children in Hanna Township: Samuel, Marquis de Lafayette, William David, and Clara Jane.

• Samuel Crull married Barbara Kiefer in 1872 and later Olive Brankaw in 1882, established a household in Chicago, Cook County, and died there in 1924.

• Marquis de Lafayette Crull, nicknamed "Fett," married Cyrus Bay's daughter Lora Arecelia Bay in Henry County, but the couple chose Porter County, Indiana to establish their home.

• William David Crull married Ellen Bittner and remained in Henry County; he is buried in North Cemetery in Geneseo.

• Clara Jane Crull married George Ellingsworth in 1877 in Henry County.
