Williams' 5th Company of Infantry, 5th (Lewis') Regiment of Kentucky Volunteer Militia from 14 August 1812 to 14 February 1813, including a notation that he was taken prisoner on 22 January 1813. Company pay rolls indicate a total pay of about $40 for the seven month period. Lewis' Regiment of Kentucky Volunteers2557, p. 178. was organized on 14 August 1812, with a total strength of 594 officers and enlisted men; Capt. Samuel L. Williams commanded the 5th Company, with a total strength of 77 men. It has not been established if this Samuel Frame was the son of Jeremiah Frame, but it must be noted that a William Frame2556 served in the same company for the same time period, lending support to the possibility that these were indeed Jeremiah Frame's older sons.

1814 War of 1814:2555 A Pvt. Samuel Frame appears on one Muster Roll of Capt. Edward Whaley's Co. of Infantry, 16th (Porter's) Regiment of Kentucky Militia for 10 September 1814 at a "Camp near Newport, Ky.," with notations that he was "engaged for six months, distance from place of residence to place of rendezvous, 90 miles, moved to the Ohio State, name canceled in present column." 1818 Church Member:68, p. 183. "The first church of the township was located on section eighteen, and was built in 1818. It was a hewed log house, twenty-six by thirty feet, roofed with shingles, and was free for all denominations of Christians to worship in. This spirit of liberality was characteristic of pioneer inhabitants — selfishness and illiberality were then unknown. The trustees were Silas Dooley, William Caster, and John Railsback. This house served the double purpose of school-house and church. Elder David Purviance was the first minister of the Christian denomination who preached there.

The writer is indebted to Silas Dooley, Jr., for the original subscription list for the building of this church, which is deemed of sufficient importance to insert, at least the names of those who contributed to the building. The condition of subscription was that those who were able should pay in money, and those who were destitute of that great luxury, and had nothing bus muscle, might discharge it in work." Sam Frame subscribed for $10.00, to be paid in work, for this church in Gasper township.

Note that wife Elizabeth "Betsey" Martin was related to Silas Dooley through marriage, according to the will of Samuel Martin, father of Elizabeth, filed in 1828 in Preble County, Ohio.451, p. 123. "Martin, Samuel; will rec. June 14, 1828; wife Mary; dau. Betsy Frame, Rachel Dooley, Sarah Wasson, Ellender Wasson, Ediva Dooley; son Samuel. Samuel Jr. left will recorded March 15, 1830; names Mother, Mary Martin, sister Rachel, wid. of Reuben Dooley & her ch. Martin, Silas, & Samuel."
