Notes for Mary Ann ——

Family Remembrance:2370 "I am a descendant of John and Mary Ann (Patterson?) White. John is thought to have been born in the Ulster area of Ireland (a Scotch-Irishman) about 1720. He came to America about 1729 along with at least his father and two older brothers. They are supposed to have settled in Chester County, PA (or the area of Chester County that Lancaster County or even possibly part of Cecil Co, MD). About 1745 he married a fellow country woman by the name of Mary Ann. They had a family. There were supposed to have been a total of 18 children. Four sons are supposed to have died young, two sons are supposed to have died in young adulthood, one daughter is supposed to have died young or runaway with a boyfriend during the Whites move westward to Washington Co.,PA in about 1771, married the boyfriend and was never heard from again. Nine sons and two daughters moved westward with the Whites and married and had children. They are Jane/Jean, who married Henry Taylor; James, who married Mary (Polly) Ross; John, who married Ann Bonar; Samuel, who married Mary Henderson; William, who married either an Anne or a Sarah/Seara; Nathaniel, who married Margaret McClure Little and moved to Enon Valley, Beaver Co., (later Lawrence Co., PA); David, who married an Unknown wife; Patterson, who married Ellen Rodentrof (Patterson passed away and Ellen then married William Sankey, Jr., and moved to Lawrence Co., PA); Benjamin N., who married Rachel Dayley (They moved to near Middlefield, OH where Benjamin died. Rachel then married Daniel Gilson, Sr.; George, who married an unknown wife; and Mary who married James Ross II. I would very much like to hear from anyone who connects with any of these lines."
