Biographical Sketch (1932):1372, p. 198. "Catharine Musser (Mosser) was born in 1799 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. She died in 1876. Interment was in Farmer Cemetery, Farmer Township, Defiance County, Ohio, where she died while visiting her son, John Himes. Catharine married Oct. 30, 1814, George Himes, b. 1796, Pennsylvania, in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. The wedding ceremony was performed in the home of her sister, Elizabeth, by her father's uncle, Abraham Mosser, who was a Justice of the Peace. George Himes was a son of Peter Himes (?) one of the first residents of Lawrence Township. In this township, George and Catherine Himes spent the greater part of their lives."
