1830 U.S. Census:1486 Eve enumerated in the household of her husband Ephraim Patterson in Burlington Township, Licking County, Ohio as a female age 20 to 30; Eve would have been age 25. Two daughters under the age of 5 also resided in the household, which was adjacent to Ephraim's father Adam Patterson and the household of Philip B. Moore, who was married to Ephraim's half-sister Lydia Patterson.

Two children, Smiley and Bruce, were living in the household, along with Anthony Chopp, a farm laborer. Son John Patterson2380 and wife Rebecca enumerated in adjacent household. Smiley Patterson would later marry Mary E. McEldowney, who was age 17 and living in English River Township, Washington County, Iowa, with her parents in the 1860 enumeration. Washington County and Johnson County are adjacent. The McEldowney family was living next to the Moore family, led by Philip B. Moore, believed to be the husband of Ephraim Patterson's half-sister Lydia Patterson, whose mother was Sophia Jones.
