1921 Obituary:266 Death mantle enfolds loved one. Lillian, wife of editor Wm. B. Morey passes into eternal sleep. Attack of uremic poisoning lays low well known woman, wife and mother of this city — funeral Saturday. Quietly and without regaining consciousness Lillian, beloved wife of Editor William B. Morey, passed into eternal sleep at their home on West Auglaize street, Wednesday night at 11:18. The end came after forty hours of unconsciousness, quietly and softly, as if the tired soul gradually slipped from its earthly tenement of clay to take up its eternal life. At the bedside when the end came were those devoted members of her family, her relatives and the friends who kept constant vigil at the sickbed from the time she was first stricken.

The death of Mrs. Morey is deeply deplored by her large circle of friends in this city, and the communities of St. Mary's and Celina where she was well and favorably known. She was a victim of uremic poisoning, the attack causing her death being suddenly suffered Wednesday morning, at her home. The attack came as a thunderbolt from a clear sky. Mr. Morey was present when she was stricken and hastily made her comfortable and then sought medical aid and assistance. The endeavors of the medical men were unavailing. She passed to sleep without having regained consciousness for a moment. In their deep bereavement the family and relatives have the sincere and heartfelt sympathy of all. The suddenness of the visitation makes the blow all the harder.

Lillian Feldheiser was born to Michael and Elizabeth Feldheiser at Celina, Ohio, February 17, 1873. Her early life was spent in that town and on December 9, 1896, she was united in marriage to Leroy Piper. To them was born a daughter, Mary, now Mrs. Clark Kridler, and a resident of this city. On September 1, 1910, ten years after the death of Mr. Piper, she was united in marriage with William B. Morey, editor of the Auglaize Republican. Since that time she had made her home in this city. The Morey family has been blessed with the coming of one son, Master Robert, now aged about nine years, and to whom the mother was devotedly attached and in return was adored with a devotion little short of supreme idolatry. To these members of the family the blow is a terrible one, and to them is the heartfelt sympathy of the public extended.

In addition to the members of her immediate family as noted above, Mrs. Morey is survived by her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Feldheiser, of this city, two sisters, Mrs. Emil Moser of Wapakoneta and Mrs. Chas. H. Morris, of Washington D.C. Other relatives surviving are Miss Tena and Jacob Feldheiser, aunt and uncle, of Celina, Mrs. Henrietta Todd, Mrs. Dona Brandon and Mrs. Dora Smith, aunts, who reside at St. Marys. At the time of her death Mrs. Morey was aged forty-eight years, eight months and two days.

Funeral services will be conducted from the residence Saturday, at 2 p.m., being in charge of Rev. J. Norman King, pastor of the Presbyterian church, of which church the deceased was a staunch member. Rev. J. W. Berger will assist in the services. Interment will be made in Greenlawn.
