Notes for Drucilla WARNOCK

Family Remembrance:795, p. 64. "Drucilla Warnock, fourth child of Presley and Rachel Frame Warnock, was born, according to Oregon records on September 27, 1841, in Indiana. The 1850 census lists her as being 8 years old which would make the birth date about 1842. Family records list her birth year as 1840, which is probably not correct. She died on October 7, 1925, at Gladstone, Oregon, and is buried at Mountain View Cemetery, at Oregon City. She married January 20, 1860, James Monroe Tracy at Eagle Creek, Oregon. He was born February 25, 1841, at Jefferson County, New York. He died February 10, 1925 at Gladstone, Oregon. He went to Oregon in 1852 from Iowa. He settled in Douglas County, Oregon, on the Tracy Donation Land Claim which is still in the family (1966). James Monroe Tracy was the son of Caleb Ensign Tracy (1817-1897) and Lydia Minor; grandson of Caleb Ensign Sr., Ellisburg, New York, and Jefferson County near Lake Ontario, Revolutionary War soldier."

1841 Birth:2609,2280,2614 Birth date of 27 September 1841 taken from 1925 death certificate in Clackamas County, Oregon; birth place is given in all sources as Indiana. Birth place assumed to be Porter County, Indiana as the Warnock family was enumerated there in 1840. Enumeration schedules actually indicate Lake County, but that is assumed to be boundary error, as no other evidence shows a residence in that county. Father Presley Warnock took possession of 88 acres of federal land in Porter County in 1837.

1850 U.S. Census:1380 Drucilla enumerated in the household of her father Presley Warnock in Porter Township, Porter County, Indiana as a female, age 8, born in Indiana, in school within the year.

1853 on the Oregon Trail:2549 In an affidavit filed on 17 November 1855 in connection with is donation land claim, father Presley Warnock attests that he and his family arrived in Oregon Territory on 25 September 1853.

1861 Marriage:884 On 20 January 1861, James M. Tracey married Drusilla Warnock in Clackamas County, Oregon.

1870 U.S. Census:2323 Drucilla enumerated in the household of her husband J. M. Tracy in Oregon City, Hardings Precinct, Clackamas County, Oregon as a female, age 28, white, keeping house, born in Indiana. Her father- and mother-in-law, Caleb and Lydia Tracy, also lived in the household.

1880 U.S. Census:2324 Drucilla enumerated in the household of her husband J. M. Tracy and her father-in-law C. E. Tracy in Yoncalla, Douglas County, Oregon as a white female, age 39, wife, married, keeping house, born in Indiana, father born in Kentucky, mother born in Kentucky.
