Notes for Andrew ERWIN

Research in Progress; Use with Caution

1747 Court Record: "Andrew Erwin and wife summoned for abusing the children of James Patterson, decd. and to account for the estate left by Patterson to the said children." Establishes that the children of James Patterson were in the household of Andrew Erwin. (Source: Chalkley's, v. 1, p. 33 (Augusta County Court Records, Order Book 1, 20 November 1747))

1765 Will: 30th May 1765. Andrew Erwin's will, farmer - to his wife Ann, to son Francis (unmarried), executors, entire estate. Teste: Andrw. Scott, Saml. Corry, Benj. Erwin. Brother Edward and brother Francis to be overseers. Proved, 15th October 1765 by Scott and Erwin. Executors qualify, (Ann's mark), with John King, Samuel Patterson. Establishes that Andrew Erwin and Samuel Patterson had a sufficiently close relationship for Samuel to be a witness to Andrew Erwin's will.
