Family Remembrance:2416 "Matthew Taylor buried his young wife and baby just a month before leaving Ohio. She died in childbirth (Aug. 7, 1855) and was not quite 20 years of age. Her maiden name was Belinda Ridenour. She is buried in the old hilltop cemetery at Stonecreek. (Belinda born Aug. 8, 1835).

After going to Illinois Matthew met and married Catherine Smith and they lived together over 50 years. They were parents of 9 children. The home of John Taylor and Sarah Barton Taylor was built in 1835 in Bureau County."
