Biographical Sketch (1997):855, p. 19. "John christened September 4, 1778 at Bern Reformed and died October 30, 1823 (in Bern Township), at age 45. His will was recorded 22 November 1823 with brother Benjamin named as executor. He married Catharine Bender on 1 December 1801. She was the daughter of Andrew and Catharine Bender. She was born 1783 and died 8 March 1822. Both are buried in Bern Reformed in Bern Township, Berks County. They had seven children: Samuel, John, David, Jared Sr., William B., Jared B. Jr., and an unnamed male."

1828 Will of father Nicholas:1314 Nicholas Stamm made the following provision in his will for the children of "John Stam who also died in the lifetime of his said father and left issue seven children, to wit Samuel, John, Margaret, David, Jared, Lydia, & Mosey."
