Philip B. Moore married1056 Lydia Patterson (daughter of Adam Patterson and first wife1057 Sophia Jones) in 1820 in Licking County, Ohio, residing next to Adam and Ephraim Patterson (son of Adam by his second wife1058 Rebecca Moore) in the 18301053 census enumeration. The relationship, if any, between Rebecca Moore and Philip B. Moore has yet to be determined. About 1847, the Philip Moore family and the Ephraim Patterson family removed to Iowa, based on information in the History of Johnson County, Iowa1059 describing Ephraim's son Bruce. By 1850 Philip Moore1054 was living in Washington County, Iowa, with Ephraim Patterson1060 and his family living in adjoining Johnson County, Iowa. Elizabeth Patterson, sister of Lydia and half-sister of Ephraim, accompanied the group along with her son Cyrus, residing in Washington County two households1061 from sister Lydia and her husband Philip Moore. Philip B. Moore, his wife Lydia Patterson, and her sister Elizabeth Patterson are all buried in Middleburg Cemetery, English River Townships, Washington County, Iowa.

Birth place of Augusta County, Virginia assumed because father Adam Patterson was living in Virginia in 1796 when he married1057 Lydia's mother, Sophia Jones, and was still residing there in 1805 at the time of his marriage1058,2037 to Rebecca Moore.

1806 Grandfather's Will:
2088 "Granddaughter Ledia" mentioned in will of grandfather Enos Jones, who died in Augusta County, Virginia between July and November 1806.

1810 U.S. Census:2051 Lydia enumerated in the household of her father Adam Patterson in Augusta County, Virginia as one of two females under age 10; Elizabeth was about 13 and Lydia was about 12.

1819 Land Purchase:2056 Deed of sale of approximately 100 acres from Adam Patterson to Elizabeth Patterson and Lydia Patterson for $300.

1820 U.S. Census:1879 Lydia enumerated in the household of her father Adam Patterson in Burlington Township, Licking County, Ohio as one of two females age 16 to 26; Elizabeth was about age 23, Lydia was about age 22. Half-brother Ephraim, age 13, and half-sisters Hannah, age 8m and Rebecca, age 3, also living in the household. Step-mother Rebecca Moore died about 1820.

1820 Marriage:1055 Lydia Patterson married Philip Bruce Moore on 17 November 1820 in Licking County, Ohio, performed by John Green, Minister of the Gospel. The same minister married Lydia's father Adam Patterson and third wife Ann Crow in January of the same year.

1826 Tax List, Licking County, Ohio:1750 Elizabeth and Lydia Patterson listed in 1826 tax list for Licking County, Ohio.

1828 Land Sale:1063 Deed of sale of half-interest in approximately 100 acres from Elizabeth Patterson, owned jointly by Elizabeth and Lydia Patterson, to Philip B. Moore for $350 on 20 December 1828.

1830 U.S. Census:1053 Lydia enumerated in the household of her husband Philip B. Moore in Burlingtown Township, Licking County, Ohio as a female, age 30-40; Lydia was about age 32. Four children were also residing in the household, which was immediately adjacent to Adam Patterson1064 (Lydia's father) and Ephraim Patterson1065 (Lydia's half-brother).

1840 U.S. Census:
1066 Lydia enumerated in the household of her husband Philip B. Moore in Burlington Township, Licking County, Ohio as a female, age 40-50; Lydia was about age 42. Six children were also residing in the household.

1850 U.S. Census:1054 Lydia enumerated in the household of her husband Philip B. Moore (#605) in English River Township, Washington County, Iowa as a female, age 52, born in Virginia. Sister Elizabeth Patterson (#603) believed to be living two households away as a female, age 54, born in Virginia, with Syrus, age 26, probably a son. Five children are living in the household of Lydia Patterson and Philip B. Moore, ranging in age from 24 to 13 years. A Nancy Patterson, relationship undetermined, is also residing in the household.
