Notes for Henry L. BAUGHMAN

Family Remembrance:410 "Mary Meyer's data on Henry's family has only this to say of Henry Baughman [Jr.] . . . 'The only information we have found concerning this Henry is on a deed recorded in Franklin Co., Ohio, 4 Oct 1841 in which he quit claimed land to one Henry Zinn (husband of Sarah Agler, sister of Mary Agler Baughman) for the sume of $10.00 paid by Henry Baughman of Auglaize Co. (Allen Co.). Henry, the son, was said to be 'of Franklin County' at the same time." A Henry Baughman is listed on page 759 (pencilled number) page 380 (stamped number) of the 1850 census for Franklin County, Columbus, Ward One. I failed to record the street or house number (if stated). This Henry's age is listed as 26 which would make him about the right age for Henry [Jr.] He gives his occupation as a guard at the state penitentiary. Oh yes I do have his address in a manner of speaking. He lives at the prison, but appears to be an employee not an inmate. He also says he was born in Ohio and is literate."
